A vision for the future of head and neck cancer treatment was presented
at the hospital on Saturday, 12 May in the second Grand Round lecture for 2007.

More than 70 Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) clinicians, ENT registrars,
nurses, pharmacists, medical students and researchers attended to hear
Professor Martin Birchall, the Chair of Laryngology of the University of
Bristol, England, present.
Professor
Birchall’s vision included the greater use of stem cell, nanotechnology
and cybernetics research to treat head and neck cancer patients.
The Eye &
Ear’s Grand Round series stimulates learning and sheds light on research
and clinical practices that can directly improve healthcare for patient
and professional alike.
