Mosby's Ocular Drug Consult, written by North American
optometrists, is a guide to most medications used in ophthalmology
and optometry. It also includes drugs commonly used by elderly patients
such as anti-hypertensives and those used for diabetes treatment.
It provides comprehensive information about their ocular and non-ocular
actions, uses, doses and routes of use, side effects and precautions
to take when in use. Optometrists, ophthalmic allied health professionals
and to a lesser extent, ophthalmologists and ophthalmic trainees may
find it useful as a reference for ophthalmic therapeutics. It has
an appendix of some commonly used herbal medications, some of which
have references to their known ocular effects.
