Following the introductory overview, each section consists of concise summaries of selected significant peer-reviewed journal articles followed by a brief discussion by the section editor. This discussion places the importance of the article in perspective, enhancing or even sometimes diminishing its relevance to current ophthalmic practice. * This year's edition does not disappoint and can readily be recommended for providing an overview of the past year's developments.
