This book is an excellent short synopsis of neuro-ophthalmology. The authors have selected what they think are the most common neuro-ophthalmic conditions and in this edition have added new chapters to include orbital disease. Although the book is very concise, they have made it very readable and I was very impressed with the reference section at the end of each chapter, which was relevant and up to date. The authors have used case studies to illustrate their points, which I think is very useful in making the information clinically relevant at the patient's bedside. In each chapter there is time given to discussion of controversial areas but obviously in a book of this size, discussion is limited. Treatment options, particularly in the chapter on migraine, gave a very good overview and were very helpful in deciding appropriate therapy. I think this book is particularly suited as an introduction
to the subject of neuro-ophthalmology for eye registrars and as
a handy reference book for ophthalmologists in general ophthalmic
practice. Justin O'Day This is available for purchase through the Library's Bookshop Service, or available for loan through the library.
