Dr Ronald Lowe is pictured here at the presentation of The Royal Australian College of Ophthalmologists' medal on 4th November 1996 in Perth.

The citation for the award conferred to Dr Lowe outlined his distinguished service to the College, to The Royal Victorian Eye & Ear Hospital, and his devotion to teaching and research. His work in angle closure glaucoma led to worldwide recognition.

Dr Lowe gave great support to The Conjoint Libraries during his life. He gave generous, unstinting and dedicated service as well as practical support in contributing journals and books.

Mrs Lowe donated a portrait of her husband, painted by his son. This and other documents are displayed in the library.
