NEW ONLINE JOURNAL

The Journal of Law and Medicine is now available online and will be a new addition to the library's electronic resources portal. Please contact us if you wish to know more about accessing it.

CLINICAL AND EXPERIMENTAL OPHTHALMOLOGY

The library worked in conjunction with Blackwells Publishing and RANZCO Sydney, to provide online access to Clinical and ExperimentalOphthalmology journal from 1973 to date. Previously online access was only available from 1998.

OvidSP

Ovid's new search platform has been released and below is a screen-shot of the new
user-interface search screen. Medline and CINAHL (Cumulative Index for Nursing and
Allied Health Literature ) databases available through the Victoria's Clinicians Health Channel, can be searched on Ovid platforms.

Key features for OvidSP¹:

o Free text/natural language processing
Users can enter free text in search box without the need to know command- line syntax.
OvidSP has the ability to search all resources simultaneously using natural language processing.
o OvidSP alerts users when a search term has been misspelled.
o Results are relevance-ranked.
o Search transparency
o In-line abstracts, etc.
