DynaMed: A point of care database
Periodically, publishers or aggregators will inform us of new
products that maybe of benefit to our clients. EBSCO has recently
advertised their new clinical reference tool that has now become
a "key component of the National Health Service (NHS) of
England's new Clinical Knowledge Summaries (CKS) Service for
the NHS community. As such, this evidence-based reference product
created by physicians and made available by EBSCO Publishing,
is now accessible at the primary point-of-care, for use by every
physician and other health care professional across England".
Description:
DynaMed is updated daily and monitors the content of over
500 medical journals and systematic evidence review databases
directly and indirectly by using many journal review services.
Each publication is reviewed cover-to-cover, and each article
is evaluated for clinical relevance and scientific validity.
The new evidence is then integrated with existing content, and
overall conclusions are changed as appropriate representing
a synthesis of the best available evidence. Through this process
of systematic literature surveillance, the best available evidence
determines the content of DynaMed.
KEY FEATURES:
- DynaMed is designed for rapid, easy use at the point-of-care
- Provides nearly 2,000 topic summaries covering all aspects
of care
- Provides evidence-based systemic selection of best available
evidence
- DYNAMED IS UPDATED DAILY!
- Its available via a PDA application for Palm OS and Microsoft
Mobile devices
The library has a 60-day trial for DynaMed, hence, we would
like to invite you trial the product. If you wish to participate,
please email the Library Manager or the library@eyeandear.org.au
for the web address.
